That's why I play rush, because what I do actually matters. Even if two separate squads managed to communicate, two squads can't take on 32 enemies to win the match. Honestly 16v16 should be the absolute maximum player count, anything more and teamwork goes out the door. Conquest is fun but falls victim to the same issue. It doesn't matter how good I do in operations, if your team is shit, you're going to lose. The team balancing on this game is completely backwards as the game actively seeks to make teams as unbalanced as possible. I don't play any mode that has 64 people for the simple fact that the winner is decided as soon as the teams are assembled. No one follows orders and goes their own way. I don't have a headset so any squad I join is like herding cats. It's just non stop flanking and getting sniped from all directions as soon as you poke your head out.

It has a similar flow to operations but you end up switching between attack/defend multiple times per match instead of being stuck with one or the other the whole time. I've started getting into frontlines as well. People getting pissed and jumping out probably makes the balancing worse. It seems though if most players stick it out until the next match the team balancing works itself out and the following match is a lot more even.

I've had many where we either couldn't clear the first sector or as defenders, get curb stomped by the attackers first battalion. You do get placed into some terribly unbalanced matches sometimes though. I rarely have to wait more than 10 seconds to get placed in a lobby and the matches are always full. I still play almost exclusively Ops (PS4) and it's always active.
